Going Well
The New exercise regime is going very well, I walked 20 miles on Sunday (past the Indian memorial above) and I've been swimming every morning. I feel much better for doing it, with much more energy.

Bromley drives man to sheep fucking
My home town is boring - growing up there was challenging as there was very little to do, except hang around the park and drink cheap booze. . . But this guy takes the biscuit! But then, maybe he'd seen some of the slags in town and thought better of it.
Thank the gods that I got out - I know a few others here in Brighton from Bromley, we sometimes reminisce about how shit it was; aahhh bad memories :)

My Next Phone
I'm over half-way through my contract and I'm already eyeing up potential replacements for my venerable n95. The default choice was the forthcoming Nokia n96, but this week Samsung leaked info on their iphone beater which runs symbian s60, has 16GB of internal memory (expandable with micro SD cards) and has a 8 mega-pixel cam with xenon flash. Let's hope Samsung don't screw it up :)

Swimming Everyday
So in a bid to get fit and lose some weight, I've started swimming every day. I go early every morning and swim forty lengths each time, which is a sensible amount if I go this often.

Busy Week
It's been another busy week for me; the newsletter had to be published, continued work on the new shop and a new version of Wordpress meant that all my sites which use it needed to be updated.
I'm also keeping up with the swimming - going three times a week and doing 50 lengths each time - which is getting me in-shape.

15 Miles
I went for a good walk on Saturday, I took the radio up to the downs to see what I could hear. Not much as it happens, a few people on 70cms.
Right at the top I found one of these 'trig points' used in the retriangulation of the GB

Check out the pussy!
Come on, what did you think I was gonna' post! - Looks like this one is after the bag on the seat. It's very wrong and sick, but this Hans Reiser related bit of geeky sickness made me laugh.
It's Thursday, that means swimming - I go three times a week and swim 50 lengths each time, that works out to nearly (10 lengths short of) 4km. Thinking about it; if I go four times a week I can do 5km - hmmm.
If the weather improves for the weekend I shall be taking a radio up to the Downs and see what the (R.F) conditions are like.

Quiet Weekend
Well I went and had my tongue split yesterday. So I'm having a very chilled-out weekend, with no talking and eating plenty of ice.
I may go for a walk later today, depending on the weather.

Radio Gaga
I picked up this hand held on the bay - The reviews of the vx6r seem mostly positive and it's water resistant. The 2 meter band seems really quiet compared to a few years back. I know the antenna isn't all that; unfortunately I am unable to install a decent one on the roof. I'll get a bigger dual band mobile whip very soon, to see if this improves matters. Saying that, I can work both the local repeaters, without any issues.I'll be taking the radio up to the south downs at the weekend and give it a proper work out at 240 meters ASL.
Off for a swim in a bit, don't know if I'll manage 50 lengths like I did on Tuesday.

What's the frequency Kenneth?
I grabbed of these el-cheap0 frequency counters from ebay - another Chinese bargain all the way from Hong Kong! I want to snag a few other test instruments (DIP meter, scope etc.) as I like to build stuff.Yesterday I hit the 50 length target in swimming - Would of managed to do a mile if I had done six more, but to be honest fifty was enough for me. I need to dig my weight training kit out, as I am going to start toning-up the muscles.

Puxing Good!
I ordered one these el-cheapo radios on the 'bay last week and it arrived (all the way from Hong Kong) yesterday. The build seems pretty good and it's nice and easy to use. I programmed my local 70cms repeater settings within ooh minutes. The only downside is the manual - Which seems to be written in Chinglish :-) Seriously though, you really can't complain about that, and there are plenty of sites on teh internets where English speaking hams have deciphered/expanded on the puxing manual. - the translation isn't that bad, just the paucity of detailed information. To be honest I have seen much worse manuals supplied with much more expensive kit.
This radio isn't limited to the 70 centimetre band, (400-470MHz) so be careful not to transmit out of band, other than that everything seems sweet.
